Pilates Exercises can reduce or eliminate chronic pain
Chronic pain is often a result of faulty posture that develops over months or years. When our skeleton is not in neutral
alignment, gravitational forces and external forces exert additional wear andtear on our joints and soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments). Over time the extra workload on our soft tissues and joints results in decreased flexibility & strength, accelerated
degeneration of the spine, decreased mobility, and finally chronic pain. Chronic pain does not have to be a lifelong sentence. Recognizing and realigning our postural deviations is possible with Massage Therapy & Pilates based exercises.
Pilates exercises target our deep core muscles and helps to bring our spine back to a more neutral position. This is why Pilates is a perfect program for those of us with faulty posture and chronic pain.
Unfortunately we will not be offerring a winter Pilates Session in 2012.
Check back in February for details on our Spring session.
